PEI Confirms 1st Coronavirus Case
On March 14, 2020 by jmwebDr. Heather Morrison, Prince Edward Island’s Chief Public Health officer, confirmed today the first case of Coronavirus/Covid-19 on the Island.
The first case is a lady who returned back to Canada on March 7th after taking a cruise. On March 10th the lady started feeling symptoms, isolated herself and called 811. On March 11th the test was performed. On March 14th around 1 pm, Heather received notice from the lab in Winnipeg that the travelling Islander was confirmed as having Coronavirus.
Health officials are recommending that people self-isolated if they are showing symptoms or not.
Islanders have really been out shopping and stocking up over the last couple days.
Additionally, the Charlottetown Airport now has signs up warning travellings to isolate.
