Canada’s Deadliest Shooting: The Procession
On April 25, 2020 by jmwebIt’s been an incredibly tough week in Nova Scotia for so many. The Vigil last night on CTV & CBC was a heartbreaker. Another heartbreaker for me was definitely the unofficial procession. Usually, for RCMP processions, thousands of people attend. Due to Covid-19, that wasn’t possible. There has been no official announcement but RCMP officers tell me, this was the procession until COVID19 is all over.
Continuing on from yesterday, I happen to be outside the RCMP Nova Scotia HQ as a lot of RCMP vehicles ended up parking along the street. They had blocked the entire street down and I was in the middle with lots of RCMP cars around me.
Kitty-corner to the RCMP Nova Scotia Headquarters is the Dr. William D. Finn Centre for Forensic Medicine. It is the Nova Scotia Medical Examiner Service.
People had started lining up along the street maintaining the 2 meters/6 foot distance amongst one another. There was another group of people in front of the Medical Examiner’s office however they ended up going inside.
Two RCMP officers left the HQ to head up to the Medical Examiners office. It looks like they were possibly carrying a flag.
The RCMP swat teams that attended the Enfield Irving Big Stop were lined up along the street in front of their vehicles.
The two RCMP officers ended up coming back, across the street.
A short time later, the family started to emerge from the building.
This was going to be a tough thing to cover. Onto Page 2 of the Procession.
