Santa Claus Photos At Confederation Court Mall
On November 22, 2020 by jmwebThe great folks at the Confederation Court Mall have asked us back once again to host their Santa Claus photos. As we are in a pandemic, physical distancing will be super important!
This year, we will be utilizing the text messaging application I had built to ensure minimal lines. The concept is simple:
- Walk into the Confederation Court Mall and use the URL on the mall 2nd level posters to register your name/email/phone number utilizing your own mobile device. Prior to registering it will provide you an estimated wait time.
- A confirmation text message and email will be sent to you with a link to the order form. It will allow you to order your photos over your phone prior to taking your child’s picture.
- When you are 4-12th in the virtual line, you will receive regular text message updates.
- When you are 3rd inline, you’ll receive a message saying please be within 3-4 minutes of the Santa display.
- When you are 2nd inline, you’ll be asked to come up and check-in with our staff where you will wait till its your turn. At this point, you will be required to stand in a particular area until it is your turn to visit santa.
- Once your turn is up and your child is coming down from talking with Santa, it is our intention to be handing you your print. Of course this varies with the packages. Any digital prints will be emailed out within 12 hours however it is usually immediate.
Additionally, we will be printing onsite again to ensure prompt service of the pictures being delivered! We will be accepting debit, credit and cash.
For dates and times, visit the Confederation Court Mall.
Special request?
A lot of people get the traditional photo of straight on posed photo however other people prefer candid photos. Most of the photos we take are the straight on posed photos. Some like both. If you have a preference, let us know and we’ll do our best to accommodate it.
Can we review the images?
No, our goal is to make this process as quick as possible. Since our time is limited and we want to get as many children in to see Santa, we can not do image reviews. Your photo editor is someone who has been published in major papers from The New York Times to the Globe And Mail. He is a full time professional photographer. He knows what he’s doing.
Can we take our own images?
As long as you are on the lower level and don’t go on the stairs sure! If you go up the stairs, that’s not allowed.
Not sure which option?
Selecting your photo options can be difficult. The goal for the Santa photos is not to just enjoy them today or for the next few years but 10-20 years down the road too. This is where buying a physical print has more benefits.
A digital version is great to post on Facebook or use as a screen saver for now. But as our digital devices change over the next 10 years, the digital versions will become smaller as resolution increases.
In 10 years our monitors, our tablets or phones will have changed significantly. The size of a digital image taken today will appear smaller as our screen resolutions continue to increase. The size of a 8.5″x11″ print won’t. For this reason, a print is always encouraged.
This said, digital versions you can always look back on over the years and are easily stored in the same digital location.
So we’ll leave this one up to you?
Can you describe the Product options?
5×7″ Print: A glossy 5×7″ print. The same you’d be at any print shop, except we can print on site.
5×7″ Greeting Card: The same quality greeting card that is sold in stores. We can do these on the spot. We try to fulfill the smaller amounts on the spot, however, if you order 8 or more, we may ask you to come back.
8.5×11″ Cotton Fine Art: Some call this paper and it looks like it but in reality, it is actually cotton material. It is a high end material that is archival. So it lasts a long time.
13×19″ Cotton Fine Art: Same as the 8.5×11″.
Digital Low Res: images are good for screens. They are saved as 72dpi. These are not meant to be printed but viewed on screens like your phone or your laptop. We don’t suggest printing these as 72 dots per inch isn’t a lot. We send these to you through Dropbox which you’ll get an email about. Usually, it’s within minutes but in case there are issues, let’s say within 12 hours. The file width or length can range as our cameras create larger than most files.
Digital High Res: These images are good for printing. Everything printed you see is 300dpi. It’s high quality. 240 dots per inch to 300 dots per inch is within high quality printed ranges. We send these to you through Dropbox which you’ll get an email about. Usually, it’s within minutes but in case there are issues, let’s say within 12 hours.
Santa Offer: You receive all this on the spot with the exception of the low res print. It is usually sent on the spot but sometimes it may take up to 12 hours.
Special All Images: We take multiple shots, both candid and posed and send them to you using a second camera. We guarantee you’ll at least have 4-5 different photographs which you’ll get, usually on the spot but sometimes up to 12 hours. Sadly we don’t have time for different poses of different combinations of people.
Methods of payment?
Cash and credit cards are accepted tho with COVID19 we have a strong emphasis on card, especially tap. All prices exclude HST.
Can we sit on Santa’s lap this year?
Yes, sitting with Santa is back!
