World War II Crash Site
On May 31, 2021 by jmwebAt the end on one side of the crash is a memorial to the pilot. James Clyde Cummings was born in 1920 and enlisted in 1941. On November 9th, 1944 James’ plane nose-dived into the ground. This is a newer memorial more recently placed on the site.
This was a fascinating site for someone who has a keen interest in World War II history. It was also sadly the site of a tragic ending for a young man. While I am not disclosing the location, I do believe we need to spend more time honoring these sites.
Want to see another? The 2nd site took 6 hours of searching and 4 hours of driving to discover.
