Quality PEI Potatoes Blocked by Canadian Government
On December 27, 2021 by jmwebPrince Edward Island is heavily dependant on the agriculture industry. A part of that industry is the PEI potato industry which employees over 5,000 people in the province. The industry is worth $1.3 billion dollars every year to the smallest province as it represents 25% of all Canadian potatoes. Of the $1.3 billion, $120 million worth of PEI potatoes are sold to the United States annually.
The Globe and Mail asked me to create some imagery featuring Chad Robertson of Marvyn’s Garden and East Point Potatoes. He is a 6th generation farmer. We started off looking at the Marvyn’s Garden side of things.
From Marvyn’s Garden we went over to East Point Potatoes to check it out.
East Point Potatoes is the processing facility for Chad and Brad Robertson. The potatoes sent here to be sorted, weighed, packaged and shipped back out to a wide range of clients including Wendy’s.
As created for the Globe and Mail.
