The Dazzling Peggys Cove Lighthouse

Peggys Cove lighthouse features one of the most iconic lighthouses of the Maritimes, therefore as someone who loves lighthouses it is with little doubt I would love frequenting the small fishing community.

When I launched my jigsaw puzzles, I was asked numerous times on why I would select Prospect Harbour over Peggy’s Cove. At the time, Peggy’s Cove was going through a renovation which would include a massive boardwalk replacing the old road up to the gift shop. The options were to launch a puzzle which would be outdated upon arrival. I wasn’t interested in that.

On the day of the official revealing of the new Peggy’s Cove, I just happened to be capturing imagery of the lighthouse. I arrived in the dark, went and captured some imagery. As the light conditions improved, I watched as workers arrived and started to remove the fence around the construction site. After having a conversation with the workers, they told me the revealing was that day. So I stuck around and captured some imagery.

For my first highlight, I’ve chosen to select some imagery of Peggy’s Cove. Later that night, I returned for sunset.

A short distance away from the lighthouse is a beautiful harbour which is always a pleasure to walk through.

During my numerous visits this year, I was actually excited to see tourists walking around the lighthouse. And not just 10-20 but a good amount. Hopefully this will increase as we come out of the pandemic.
