PEI Freedom Convoy Rally to Charlottetown

I popped into the Holman Grand Hotel, who are very friendly with accomodating my requests, the elevator took me to the top floor and captured some images from above as the first tractors rolled through.
At this stage, it was a smaller crowd than I was expecting. I also didn’t see any issues happening other than people protesting. After spending a few minutes on the top of the Holman Grand, I went downstairs to be closer to the protest.
After leaving the Holman Grand, I ran into a veteran who advised me a bit about the other veteran standing there at the cenotaph. They had served together. After a brief chat, I was back at creating some imagery.
While getting some general images, I had a lady come over and yell at me saying, “you are fake news”.
I responded with, “cool, what news am I from?”.
She couldn’t answer as frankly she didn’t know.
I asked her, “how am I fake news when you don’t know what outlet I am from?”.
Again, she couldn’t answer and she admitted she did not know.
I explained I was with Reuters and the imagery will be used on all types of news outlets from left to right.
She ended up apologizing for her comments. This would be the second and last derogatory made.
I continued to create some imagery and decided to photograph the veteran standing on display.
I created some imagery around the veteran at the cenotaph and moved on. As time went on, the crowd increased. Cars continued to drive around in circles in the downtown core.
I dunno how anyone could put a guesstimate to the attendance with people driving in circles. Police would later go on to say there was 500-700 vehicles. The old term Dizzyblock (nickname for downtown Charlottetown) sure comes to mind. I did have someone ask me how many people I thought was there and my response was simple, I don’t know how you’d guesstimate with so many people moving around. I would just say, it was a large attendance.
As time went on, the cars continued and the police presence seemed to increase. I captured imagery of anything unique I had observed.
