After a short break, the Memorial Cup was ready to participate in a parade. The kids went first along with the Saint John transit buses which carried members of the individual teams inside. The fans waved and cheered as the teams passed.
Soon enough, it was the Memorial Cups turn.
Soon enough, we were marching down Water Street in Saint John.
As the parade wrapped up at the Area 506 container yard, we moved onto speeches by dignitiaries.
Lastly, the jersey for the Saint John Sea Dogs home opener at the Memorial Cup was revealed.
This wraps up day 1 of the Memorial Cup! I doubt I’ll be able to do these daily as I created this blog post at the same time games will be happening the rest of the tournament.
