On June 25, it was a QMJHL show down at the CHL Memorial Cup being held in Saint John, New Brunswick as the Cataractes de Shawinigan took on the Saint John Sea Dogs.

With Saint John coming back to win 5-3, the stage was set. It would be the Saint John Sea Dogs vs the Hamilton Bulldogs in the 2022 Memorial Cup Final.
