Touchdown Atlantic in Wolfville
On August 3, 2022 by jmwebTouchdown Atlantic came back to the maritimes last weekend for the first time since 2019. I was asked to travel over to cover the game for The Canadian Press, specifically for the CFL. So I jumped into my car and went to Halifax for the week.
The CFL had arranged for media to be picked up in Halifax and bused to the Wolfville in Annapolis Valley on the same busses carrying those who purchased transportation passes. So off I went.
Some warmup action.
After the players were warmed up, we go into the official ceremonies.
There were 6000 fans, at least, with most the seating I believe brought in from Toronto.
The CFL is broken into two halves with a short break in between. The toll it must take on the players bodies lead them to play less often than sports like hockey. I knew very minimal about the sport.
After it was all over, the players had a chance to connect.
It was a great opportunity to cover some top Canadian football in the maritimes 🙂
