The World Junior Championships were a dream like no other. It featured high-caliber talent from around the world with one exception: It was amid the Hockey Canada cover-up. Nonetheless, my role was to pay attention to what was (mostly) happening on the ice. It was also my opportunity to capture an event in an arena I wasn’t anything but used to, an NHL rink.

1. Hurricane Fiona
Without a doubt, this will be the major story for many media outlets in the Maritimes. Fiona devastated our region like no other storm. I still look back on the devastation and think of the many people impacted in Port aux Basques.
The amazing accolades I received from covering this storm were also top-notch. From editors right from the top of Reuters to the G&M.
