Without a doubt, I love visiting the Rock. I was supposed to visit in the spring of 2022, but was delayed due to hockey assignments. By the time I was able to go, the icebergs were gone. Nonetheless, I made it in the fall.
16. PEI Potato Crisis
In 2021, potatoes were banned from being imported into the United State. It blew over into 2022, where I had an assignment by the Washington Post. My next assignment by the Washington Post was to go to Ottawa to cover the occupation of Ottawa. Sadly I couldn’t as I had a prior assignment (with Reuters) and the story would change by the time I was able to go.

15. FIVE Jigsaw Puzzles
Because 4 wasn’t enough in 2021, I did 5….which wasn’t enough in 2022. 2023 = 10 puzzles? We’ll see.
When I arrived and saw the trailer, I was super excited but it wasn’t till I parked the U-Haul that it hit. Think of a kid jumping for joy when they see presents under the Christmas tree. That was me, in front of some great friends.
14. Canadian Convoy to Ottawa
I was assigned to cover the Canadian Convoy leaving from Nova Scotia to Ottawa for Reuters. It was the first assignment of the Canadian truckers by Reuters so unsurprisingly, the images were heavily used. The Globe & Mail selected one of my photos as the photo of the day.

13. Large Public Remembrance Day Ceremonies
COVID19 had a real impact on stopping the massive gatherings for Remembrance Day. For 2022, things were pretty much back to normal.
